The proximity to the capital city of Tehran with its higher wage has resulted in Veramin rugs being hardly knotted at all. It is assumed that the craft of knotting was established there at about the same time as in Ghom, i.e. at the beginning of the 20th century, and that the manufactories were once set up by Tehran investors. This theory is supported in particular by the color compositions of early Varamins, which are reminiscent of those of Ghom rugs. This old Varamin is \u003cb\u003e more than 40 years old\u003c\/b\u003e and a true collector's item.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch4\u003e\u003cb\u003ePatterns\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/h4\u003e\u003cp align=\"justify\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003e The \u003cb\u003e abstract, geometric composition\u003c\/b\u003e creates the simple elegance of this Varamin. The pattern flatters the design of the room and does not take the attention away from its furniture, decoration and architectural elements. It blends in fantastically with any surroundings and subtly complements the interior design of a room..\n\u003cbr\/\u003e\u003cbr\/\u003e The \u003cb\u003eembellished edging (border)\u003c\/b\u003e forms a glorious contrast to the center and creates a transition at the edge of the rug.\n\u003cbr\/\u003e\u003cbr\/\u003e The luxuriant \u003cb\u003eflower motifs\u003c\/b\u003e of this Varamin are elegant and varied. The graceful vegetative symbols representing flowers, leaves and branches are artfully intertwined.\n\u003cbr\/\u003e\u003cbr\/\u003e The \u003cb\u003erecurring pattern\u003c\/b\u003e (so-called repeating pattern) flatters the design of the room and does not take attention away from the furniture, the decoration and architectural elements. It blends in fantastically with any surroundings and subtly complements the interior design of a room.. In this Varamin the \u003cb\u003erepeating elements\u003c\/b\u003e give way to the \u003cb\u003esymmetrical medallion\u003c\/b\u003e in the center of the panel.\n\u003cbr\/\u003e\u003cbr\/\u003e  The background of this Varamin is dark blue.  The border features rusty red, yellow and light blue. We have not completely restored this Varamin because we think it is as it is a special charm. If you would like, we will of course restore the rug further for you. Virgin wool is a sustainable, natural raw material with a number of impressive properties; due to the wool's natural fat content, the surface repels water droplets and is thus naturally impervious to dirt. Wool also offers excellent thermal insulation, has a regulating effect on living climate and muffles sound. The weft and warp threads of this Varamin are made of \u003cb\u003ecotton\u003c\/b\u003e.
