The Koliai and Khorasan rugs, if you will, are also Kordi rugs. Usually Kurdi rugs come from the Khorasan province. Only rarely do they come from the Turkmen-Afghan region. \n\u003cbr\/\u003e\u003cbr\/\u003e\nKurds make use of all classical provenances (origin, source) for the rug knotting. However, they do not blindly imitate traditional patterns, but put them into practice in their own way. Especially the colors often deviate strongly from original patterns. It has a symbolic meaning in the Islamic world: it symbolizes the immortality of the soul.
