Origin and design

Hosseinabad (also spelled Hosenabad) is a city in northwestern Iran. However, unlike other Persian carpets, Hosseinabad carpets are woven in the Tuserkan region, not in the town of the same name. Hosseinabad carpets belong to the Hamaden carpet family. They are very popular due to their high-quality, durable material and relatively affordable price. The pattern of Hosseinabad carpets is similar to the Herati pattern. They often feature a diamond-shaped medallion that interrupts the continuous pattern. A deep red is almost always used as the background color.
