Origin and design

Kilims (also spelled Kilim, Qilim) were traditionally made only for personal use. Nomads and farmers used, and still use, their flat-woven kilims as carpets on the floor, but also as tent or wall hangings, blankets, cushions, or bags. With our new kilims, we have further developed the traditional Iranian weaving technique to produce significantly denser and thicker kilims. We call this new generation of kilims Kelim Hoch2.

For our Kelim Hoch2, we wrap naturally dyed virgin wool around thick strands of coarsely spun virgin wool, creating sturdy panels with an exceptional texture. We then sew these panels, featuring various colors and patterns, together with large stitches to achieve the desired width. The result is contemporary, highly durable kilims with simple patterns and harmonious color tones.

The colors of this rug change depending on which side it is viewed from. It depends on whether the light falls on the line or against the line of the pile. We have therefore taken pictures of this rug from different perspectives.
