Origin and design

Mamlouk (less commonly also Mamluk) carpets were woven primarily in 15th-century Egypt and are now found almost exclusively in museums. This Mamlouk carpet is a reinterpretation of the classic pattern, characterized by numerous different geometric shapes that give the carpet a kaleidoscopic effect.

The colors of this rug change depending on which side it is viewed from. It depends on whether the light falls on the line or against the line of the pile. We have therefore taken pictures of this rug from different perspectives.
