Reflection

Every rug is a one-of-a-kind piece – and this particular Reflection exists exactly once. At 150 × 103 cm, it works well as a rug for the bedroom or study. It also looks right at home in a seating area. The blend of wool and silk makes it hard-wearing and refined at the same time. Its knot density comes in at 160000.

Origin

The inspiration for this hand-knotted designer rug came from reflections on the surface of water. Other associations are of course allowed and welcome. The result is a modern design that sits beautifully in contemporary interiors. The partly kaleidoscopic patterns make this rug a real eye-catcher that makes any room feel more homely and inviting.

Material

The pile of this Reflection was hand-knotted from high-quality new wool. New wool is obtained by gently shearing sheep. The pattern has been worked in pure silk, so that the colours of this Reflection's pattern shine in different facets depending on how the light falls. New wool is a renewable, natural raw material with a number of impressive properties: thanks to the natural lanolin content of the wool, the surface repels droplets of water and is therefore naturally protected against dirt. Wool also offers excellent thermal insulation, helps regulate the indoor climate and dampens sound. Silk is harvested by hand from the cocoons of the silkworm. Because the individual silk filaments are extremely long, very fine yarns can be produced that remain tear-resistant despite their low weight. This fine yarn allows smaller rug knots to be tied and thus more intricate patterns to be created. That is why the finest rugs in the world are hand-knotted from pure silk.
