In 1993 Philipp Zomorrodi is born and learns to walk at Am Wehrhahn 53 – where our shop stood for 25 years – and, probably even earlier, to leaf through stacks of rugs.

Sustainability
We ship our rugs carbon-neutrally with DHL Go Green. For this we pack them in an environmentally friendly way, in reusable RePacks. RePacks are made from 100% recyclable materials and save up to 80% of CO2 emissions.
Our new rugs are made from purely natural materials such as wool, silk, jute, hemp, bamboo silk / viscose or cotton.
Oriental rugs are made to last for ever. Even a pre-owned rug will therefore serve its purpose for decades to come. What's more, the charm of an old, pre-owned Oriental rug is unmatched. And the vintage rug also appeals to many rug lovers. Buying a pre-owned rug is sustainable: no new wool has to be produced and dyed, and the rug doesn't have to be knotted from scratch and shipped halfway around the world.
But there are innovations in the making of new rugs, too. New techniques allow rugs to be produced in an environmentally friendly way. We support new developments and have, for instance, trialled a few rugs made from recycled PET bottles. Upcycling couldn't be lovelier.

An informed decision
For many people, buying a rug online is out of the question. A rug is something you need to touch and try out at home. And that's true: the internet can't replace living with a rug in your own four walls. That's why – if you order online – you can try our rugs at home for 14 days.
Above all, though, the internet offers a rare opportunity: we want rug lovers to be able to make an informed decision. That's why we provide comprehensive information on every rug, on care and on living with hand-knotted rugs, along with personal consultation.
What matters to us:
Transparency
Rug dealers have a worse reputation than mattress sellers and insurance reps combined. Endless closing-down sales and doorstep selling are tiresome and breed mistrust.
We want to win back that lost trust. With us there are no inflated prices and made-up discounts – just fair, transparent prices from the very start.
What should I look out for when buying a rug?
You don't buy a rug every day. But there's no need to worry: we've put together a guide to help you decide.
Rug washing
Rugs are everyday objects, and daily life leaves its traces on them. We clean your rugs gently and exclusively by hand. Even with antique rugs and pieces heavily soiled over the years, we achieve outstanding results. Stubborn stains such as red wine, coffee or urine we remove almost always without a trace – silk rugs included.
Repair & Restoration
A good rug outlasts generations. Should your rug be damaged or soiled – holes, loose fringes, worn patches or discolouration – we repair and restore it for you.
