Do flying carpets really exist?

Do flying carpets really exist? We are working flat out on developing a flying carpet. Sadly, a breakthrough is not yet in sight. 

The idea of the flying carpet, by the way, isn't nearly as old as you might think. Contrary to popular belief, the tales of the Thousand and One Nights originally featured no flying carpets at all.

In the Galland manuscript, the oldest manuscript of the Thousand and One Nights, covering the first 282 nights, flying carpets are not mentioned anywhere.

In Gustav Weil's tale "Aladdin and the Magic Lamp", Aladdin has Princess Bedrulbudur carried off on her wedding night, bridegroom and marriage bed included, and brought back the next morning. The bed is borne through the air by the genie of the lamp. A flying carpet does not appear in this original version — but it does in the countless adaptations, such as the Disney animated film Aladdin from 1992.
