Egyptian Oriental rug

A knot density of around 200,000 knots per m² makes the demanding workmanship visible – right down to the fine execution of the details. At 143 × 73 cm, it is well placed as a small living room rug. Origin
The pattern of this Oriental rug is inspired by classic Persian rug designs. This rug was knotted in Egypt.
Material
The pile of this Egyptian Oriental rug was hand-knotted from high-quality new wool. New wool is obtained by gently shearing sheep. New wool is a renewable, natural raw material with a number of impressive properties: thanks to the natural lanolin content of the wool, the surface repels droplets of water and is thus naturally protected against dirt. Wool also provides excellent thermal insulation, has a regulating effect on the indoor climate and dampens sound.The weft and warp threads of this Egyptian Oriental rug are made of cotton. This versatile material is tear-resistant and elastic and therefore particularly well suited to a hard-wearing foundation.
Condition
You are not the first to take a liking to this Egyptian Oriental rug. It has had owners before you who valued and used it. It was knotted around 17. It has been cleaned thoroughly and is in good, though only partly restored, condition. The fringes could do with a little repair here and there. We have not fully restored this Egyptian Oriental rug, because we feel it has a special charm just as it is. If that is what you would like, we are of course happy to restore the rug further for you. We can bring almost any rug back to near-perfect condition.
