Origin

The pattern of this Oriental rug is inspired by classic Persian rug designs. This rug was knotted in Turkey.

This old Turkish Oriental rug is around 96 years old and a real collector's piece.

Material

The pile of this Old Turkish Oriental rug was hand-knotted from high-quality new wool. New wool is obtained by gently shearing sheep. New wool is a renewable, natural raw material with a range of impressive properties: thanks to the natural lanolin in the wool, the surface repels droplets of water and is therefore naturally protected against dirt. Wool also offers excellent thermal insulation, helps regulate the indoor climate and dampens sound.

The weft and warp threads of this Old Turkish Oriental rug are made of cotton. This versatile material is tear-resistant and elastic, which makes it particularly well suited to a hard-wearing foundation.

Condition

You are not the first to take a liking to this Old Turkish Oriental rug. It had owners before you who valued and used it. It was knotted around 96. It has been thoroughly cleaned and is in good but unrestored condition. In places. We have not restored this Old Turkish Oriental rug, because we feel it has a special charm just as it is. If you would prefer otherwise, we will of course gladly restore the rug for you. Either way, this Old Turkish Oriental rug will give you pleasure for decades to come.

A note on the photos

The colours of this rug change depending on which side you look at it from. It all depends on whether the light falls with the nap of the pile or against it. That is why we have photographed the rug from several angles.
