This Bidjar is a one-of-a-kind rug from Persien. Measuring 321 × 71 cm, this unique piece is ideal as a runner or hallway rug and adds character to narrow living spaces. Origin and design

This carpet was woven in Bidjar, in the Kermanshah province of northwestern Iran. Bidjar carpets are among the most durable and highest-quality Oriental carpets. The majority of the population in Bidjar are Kurds. Kurdish Bidjar carpets are woven with a particularly thick and extremely stiff weft yarn. This results in a board-like, exceptionally hard-wearing carpet. The more recent Bidjar carpets are often adorned with the typical Herati pattern, also known as the fish pattern.
