Material

The pile of this hand-tufted modern designer rug is made from a hard-wearing blend of wool and viscose. Viscose (also spelled viscose, or called acetate silk or rayon) is always obtained from cellulose, a natural product, and therefore from the raw material wood. In India the cellulose pulp is obtained from bamboo. In an elaborate process the pulpy cellulose is drawn into a continuous textile yarn. This is why viscose is also referred to as continuous filament yarn. Because of the silky sheen of the yarn, viscose obtained from bamboo is also known as "Bamboo Silk". The colloquially common term "artificial silk" is not permitted under the German Textile Labelling Act (TKG).

The weft and warp threads of this hand-tufted modern designer rug are made of cotton. This versatile material is tear-resistant and elastic and therefore particularly well suited to a hard-wearing foundation weave.

A note on the photos

The colours of this rug change depending on which side you look at it from. It all depends on whether the light falls with the nap of the pile or against it. That is why we have photographed the rug from several angles.
