Origin

In designing this hand-tufted rug, what mattered most to us was simplicity and a focus on the essentials. The result is a modern, clean-lined design that sits beautifully in contemporary interiors. Despite its cool, pared-back look, this rug makes any room feel more homely and welcoming.

Pattern

The clear, abstract design of this contemporary rug speaks especially to people who love clean, modern interiors and architecture. The design idea for this rug comes from Europe. Free from the rules of traditional rug patterns, it was developed for Western art and interior design. This is not an entirely new development. The roots of European rug design go back to Art Deco rugs that were made to Western specifications between the late 1920s and the 1950s.

The background of this Hand-tufted Modern Designer Rug is beige.

Material

The pile of this hand-tufted modern designer rug is made from a hard-wearing blend of wool and Viscose. Viscose – also called viscose rayon, acetate silk or rayon – is generally obtained from cellulose, a natural product, and therefore from the raw material wood. In India, the cellulose pulp is obtained from bamboo. In an elaborate process, the pulpy cellulose is drawn into a continuous textile yarn. This is why viscose is also known as continuous filament yarn. Because of the silky sheen of the yarn, viscose made from bamboo is also called "Bamboo Silk". The colloquial term "artificial silk" is not permitted under the German Textile Labelling Act (TKG).
