Origin and design

Contemporary aesthetics meet oriental tradition – for this New Tehran rug, we drew inspiration from the traditional patterns of Persian Sarough carpets.

Sarough is one of Iran's most renowned carpet-weaving regions. Sarough carpets are famous for their floral Sultanabad designs. The delicate tendrils seem to branch out endlessly, contained only by the surrounding border.

We have reworked the traditional pattern templates and, in particular, completely rearranged the color scheme. The result is a fusion of traditional oriental carpet design and modern European aesthetics. With our New Tehran rugs, we aim to reflect current European interior design trends while playfully engaging with the principles of traditional carpet weaving.
