For the Hamburg painter Paul Schrader we produced a high-quality hand-knotted rug. For this we had his painting Summer in Paris knotted in wool at 237 cm x 172 cm with around 160,000 knots per m².

Paul Schrader was inspired to paint the picture by a visit to the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris. Paul was captivated by a large-format painting by Takashi Murakami made up mainly of round cartoon heads. It was in fact a warm summer's day, and yet to many viewers the picture looks like raining clouds.

With the rug you of course receive a certificate signed by Paul Schrader.

A note on the photos

The colours of this rug change depending on which side you look at it from. It all depends on whether the light falls with the nap of the pile or against it. That is why we have photographed the rug from several angles.
