Origin

The inspiration for this hand-knotted designer rug came from reflections on the surface of water. Other associations are of course allowed and welcome. The result is a modern design, which sits beautifully in contemporary interiors. The patterns, at times almost kaleidoscopic, make this rug a real eye-catcher that gives any room a warmer, more homely feel.

Pattern

Individual areas of the pattern have a higher pile than the rest of this rug. The patterns of modern rugs are tending to become simpler and more abstract. The play with different pile heights is new and has replaced more elaborate and more insistent patterns. Because parts of the pattern have been brought out two-dimensionally, however, the rug is anything but dull. The accentuation is out of the ordinary and creates an effect all of its own.

The lavish floral motifs of this Reflection are elegant and varied in their design. The graceful plant motifs, showing blossoms, leaves and branches, are artfully intertwined.

The background of this Reflection is silver grey. Terracotta and silver grey also dominate the overall impression.

Material

The pile of this Reflection is made of hard-wearing viscose. The colloquial term "artificial silk" is not permitted under the German Textile Labelling Act (TKG). Viscose, also spelled viscose and known as acetate silk or rayon, is generally obtained from the natural product cellulose, that is, from the raw material wood. In India, however, the cellulose pulp is also obtained from bamboo. In an elaborate process, the pulpy cellulose is drawn into a continuous textile yarn. This is why viscose is also called continuous filament yarn. Because of the silky sheen of the yarn, viscose obtained from bamboo is also known as "Bamboo Silk". The weft and warp threads of this Reflection are made of cotton. This versatile material is tear-resistant and stretchy, which makes it especially suited to a hard-wearing foundation.
