Every rug is a one-of-a-kind piece – this RIO ART exists exactly once. At 200 × 200 cm it makes an ideal living room rug and at the same time a versatile rug for the living area or dining space. As a wool and silk rug, this one-of-a-kind piece combines hard-wearing natural fibres with a particularly fine appearance. The knot density is given as 130000. Material

The pile of this RIO ART is made from a hard-wearing blend of wool and viscose. Viscose (also known as acetate silk or rayon) is always obtained from cellulose, a natural product, and therefore from wood as the raw material. In India the cellulose pulp is obtained from bamboo. In an elaborate process the pulpy cellulose is drawn into one continuous textile yarn. This is why viscose is also called a continuous filament yarn. Because of the silky sheen of the yarn, viscose made from bamboo is also known as "bamboo silk". The colloquial term "Kunstseide" (artificial silk) is not permitted under the German Textile Labelling Act (TKG).

A note on the photos

The colours of this rug change depending on which side you look at it from. It all depends on whether the light falls with the nap of the pile or against it. That is why we have photographed the rug from several angles.
