Material

The pile of this Shape is made of hard-wearing viscose. The colloquial term "artificial silk" is not permitted under German textile labelling law (TKG). Viscose (also spelled viscose, and known as acetate silk or rayon) is generally obtained from cellulose, a natural product, and therefore from wood as a raw material. In India, however, the cellulose pulp is also obtained from bamboo. In an elaborate process, the pulpy cellulose is drawn into a continuous textile yarn. This is why viscose is also described as a continuous filament yarn. Because of the silky sheen of the yarn, viscose obtained from bamboo is also called "Bamboo Silk".

A note on the photos

The colours of this rug change depending on which side you look at it from. It all depends on whether the light falls with the nap of the pile or against it. That is why we have photographed the rug from several angles.
