Origin
In designing this hand-knotted rug, what mattered most to us was simplicity and a focus on the essentials. The result is a modern, clean-lined design that sits beautifully in contemporary interiors. Despite its cool, pared-back look, this rug makes any room feel more homely and inviting. The varying pile heights create a fascinating texture and feel.
Pattern
The clean, straight stripes of this Straight order and structure the pattern.
The pile is a solid gold beige. The plain design is restrained, yet it can also set a wonderful decorative accent. The monochrome look of this rug fits beautifully into any setting.
Material
The pile of this Straight is made of hemp and new wool. Hemp is obtained from the bast of the hemp plant, the tissue just beneath the bark. Hemp makes this rug particularly robust and hard-wearing. The hemp fibres feel coarse to the touch and are around three times as durable as cotton. Compared with cotton, though, the hemp plant can be grown in a more environmentally friendly way, which is one reason it keeps gaining in popularity. Because they are kind to nature and so robust, hemp rugs are a favourite choice for heavily used living areas.
For this Straight the hemp fibres were combined with pure new wool, dyed with natural colours and spun by hand. The new wool takes the coarseness out of the hemp and gives the rug a pleasant feel. The weft threads of this Straight are made of cotton. Wool was used for the warp threads.

Child labour? No thanks.
Child labour? No thanks. Children belong in school, not at a knotting frame or a loom. For us it therefore goes without saying that we only offer rugs made under fair conditions and without child labour.
We attach particular importance to humane working conditions and tolerate no child labour at any of our producers. Thank you for helping us to ensure fair conditions.
That is why we support the initiative Care & Fair against child labour in the rug trade.
