This rug in silver grey exists just once in this form: it brings together traditional craftsmanship and timeless elegance. With approx. 120,000 knots per m², the work involved is correspondingly painstaking, recognisable in the precise drawing of the pattern and the finely worked details. Its 300 × 200 cm make it a living room rug. It also cuts a fine figure under a dining table for four to six. Colours and texture give the room a homely atmosphere – with a character no other rug shares.

Origin

When designing this hand-knotted rug, what mattered most to us was simplicity and a focus on the essentials. The result is a modern, straight-lined design that sits beautifully in contemporary interiors. Despite its cool, understated look, this rug makes any room feel homelier and more welcoming.

Material

The pile of this Straight is made of hard-wearing viscose. The colloquial term "artificial silk" is not permitted under the German Textile Labelling Act (TKG). Viscose (also known as acetate silk or rayon) is generally obtained from cellulose, a natural product, and therefore from the raw material wood. In India, however, the cellulose pulp is also obtained from bamboo. In an elaborate process, the pulpy cellulose is drawn into a continuous textile yarn. This is why viscose is also referred to as continuous filament yarn. Because of the silky sheen of the yarn, viscose made from bamboo is also called "bamboo silk".

The weft and warp threads of this Straight are made of cotton. This versatile material is tear-resistant and has some give, which makes it particularly well suited to a hard-wearing foundation.

A note on the photos

The colours of this rug change depending on which side you look at it from. It all depends on whether the light falls with the nap of the pile or against it. That is why we have photographed the rug from several angles.
