Tetex Rug
This rug in rust red combines traditional craftsmanship with timeless elegance. With approx. 160,000 knots per m², the workmanship is correspondingly demanding, as you can see in the precise drawing of the design and the finely worked details. Its 110 × 91 cm make it a small living room rug. As a one-of-a-kind piece, it brings individual character to the room and holds its value far beyond short-lived trends.

Origin
Tetex rugs come from the manufactory of the same name, which produced rugs in Germany (and later in Belgium) in the 20th century. Tetex rugs were usually tufted – a method that made it possible to produce high-quality rugs comparatively quickly. The result was rugs with an Oriental look that still delight today with their distinctive, often large-scale patterns. A wonderful retro rug that recalls times gone by – and is as contemporary today as it ever was.
Material
The pile of this Tetex rug was hand-knotted from high-quality new wool. New wool is obtained by gently shearing sheep. New wool is a renewable, natural raw material with a whole range of impressive qualities: thanks to the natural lanolin in the wool, the surface repels droplets of water and is naturally protected against dirt. Wool also offers excellent thermal insulation, helps regulate the indoor climate and absorbs sound.
Condition
This Tetex rug has had admirers before you. It was knotted around 66. It has been thoroughly cleaned and is in good but only partly restored condition. We have not fully restored this Tetex rug because we feel it has a special charm just as it is. If that is what you would like, we will of course take the restoration further for you. We can bring almost any rug back to near-perfect condition.
A note on the photos
Child labour? No thanks.
Child labour? No thanks. Children belong in school, not at a knotting frame or a loom. For us it therefore goes without saying that we only offer rugs made under fair conditions and without child labour.
We attach particular importance to humane working conditions and tolerate no child labour at any of our producers. Thank you for helping us to ensure fair conditions.
That is why we support the initiative Care & Fair against child labour in the rug trade.
