Craftsmanship and timeless elegance come together in this rug in dark grey/anthracite. A knot density of around 150,000 knots per m² makes the painstaking work visible – right down to the finely worked details. At 120 × 84 cm, it is in its element as a small living room rug. Colouring and texture give any room a homely, exclusive note – a one-of-a-kind piece that will last for years.

Origin

The pattern of this Oriental rug is inspired by classic Persian rug designs. This rug was knotted in Turkey.

Material

The pile of this Turkish Oriental rug was hand-knotted from high-quality new wool. New wool is obtained by gently shearing sheep. It is a renewable, natural raw material with a number of impressive properties: thanks to the wool's natural lanolin content, the surface repels droplets of water and is therefore naturally protected against dirt. Wool also offers excellent thermal insulation, helps regulate the indoor climate and dampens sound.

The foundation (weft and warp threads) of this Turkish Oriental rug is made of new wool.

Condition

This Turkish Oriental rug has a history. It was knotted around 76. It has been thoroughly cleaned and is in good but only partially restored condition. We have not fully restored this Turkish Oriental rug because we feel it has a special presence just as it is. If that is what you would like, we are of course happy to restore the rug further for you. We can bring almost any rug back to near-perfect condition.

A note on the photos

The colours of this rug change depending on which side you look at it from. It all depends on whether the light falls with the nap of the pile or against it. That is why we have photographed the rug from several angles.
