This one-of-a-kind piece in light red combines traditional craftsmanship with timeless elegance. With a knot density of around 160,000 knots per m², the elaborate workmanship shows above all in the precise drawing of the design and the fine execution of the details. At 130 × 99 cm, it works beautifully as a small living room rug. The harmonious colouring and the characteristic texture lend any room an exclusive, homely atmosphere. Origin

The pattern of this Oriental rug is inspired by classic Persian rug designs. This rug was knotted in Turkey.

Material

The pile of this Turkish Oriental rug was hand-knotted from high-quality new wool. New wool is obtained by gently shearing sheep. It is a renewable, natural raw material with a number of impressive properties: thanks to the wool's natural lanolin content, the surface repels droplets of water and is therefore naturally protected against dirt. Wool also offers excellent thermal insulation, helps regulate the indoor climate and dampens sound.

The weft and warp threads of this Turkish Oriental rug are made of cotton. This versatile material is tear-resistant and supple, which makes it particularly well suited to a hard-wearing foundation weave.

Condition

You are not the first to take a liking to this Turkish Oriental rug. It had owners before you who valued it and lived with it. It was knotted around 61. It has been thoroughly cleaned and is in good but unrestored condition. The pile is evenly worn. Parts of the border are missing along one side. We have not restored this Turkish Oriental rug, because we feel it has a special charm just as it is. If you would like us to, we will of course gladly restore it for you. Either way, this Turkish Oriental rug will give you pleasure for decades to come.

A note on the photos

The colours of this rug change depending on which side you look at it from. It all depends on whether the light falls with the nap of the pile or against it. That is why we have photographed the rug from several angles.

Child labour? No thanks.

Child labour? No thanks. Children belong in school, not at a knotting frame or a loom. For us it therefore goes without saying that we only offer rugs made under fair conditions and without child labour.

We attach particular importance to humane working conditions and tolerate no child labour at any of our producers. Thank you for helping us to ensure fair conditions.

That is why we support the initiative Care & Fair against child labour in the rug trade.
