Origin

This [Herkunftsregion/Design] has been pieced together from sections of various hand-knotted rugs. To do so, the sound areas were cut out of pre-owned rugs and joined into a new one. The pieces were selected with care so that pattern and colour work together. The seams between the individual patches are sturdy and the back of the rug is fully backed. In this way we give pre-owned rugs a second life in a more modern guise. Using old rugs as the raw material for new products saves resources and is sustainable. British understatement for your home. The pile of this vintage patchwork rug was hand-knotted from high-grade new wool. New wool is obtained by gently shearing sheep. It is a renewable, natural raw material with a range of impressive qualities: thanks to the wool's natural lanolin, the surface repels droplets of water and is therefore naturally proofed against dirt. Wool also offers excellent thermal insulation, helps regulate the indoor climate and dampens sound. The weft and warp threads of this vintage patchwork rug are made of cotton. This versatile material is tear-resistant and stretchy, which makes it especially well suited to a hard-wearing foundation weave.
