At approx. 90,000 knots per m², the workmanship is correspondingly painstaking, as you can see in the precise drawing of the design and the finely worked details. Its 253 × 206 cm make it a living room rug. It shows to equally good effect in an office. Colouring and texture give the room a homely atmosphere – with a character no other rug shares.

Origin

The modern, light-toned rugs in our Zen collection are made from pure new wool. They are more than just a decorative element. They are a true masterpiece of the rug-knotting craft.

The finely knotted ridges create an enchanting pattern. The light, soft texture and the varying pile heights of the Zen collection calm the senses and create a pleasant atmosphere. Our Zen rugs are understated, meditative rugs with soul.

Material

The pile of this Zen was hand-knotted from high-quality new wool. New wool is obtained by shearing sheep gently. New wool is a renewable, natural raw material with a number of impressive properties: thanks to the wool's natural oil content, the surface repels droplets of water and is therefore naturally protected against dirt. Wool also offers excellent thermal insulation, has a regulating effect on the indoor climate and dampens sound.

The weft and warp threads of this Zen are made of cotton. This versatile material is both tear-resistant and supple, which makes it particularly well suited to a hard-wearing foundation.

A note on the photos

The colours of this rug change depending on which side you look at it from. It all depends on whether the light falls with the nap of the pile or against it. That is why we have photographed the rug from several angles.
