Origin
Lori carpets are a finer variant of the gabbeh traditionally knotted by the Lurs. The Lurs are a tribe in southwest Persia (also Loristan). Lori (also Luri) carpets are also called loribaft designated. The additional syllable "baft" means something like "tied". Translated, Loribaft means Luren knotting.
Lori carpets traditionally have imaginative geometric designs that are colorfully designed. Modern lori today are mostly designed more simply with monochrome designs. However, there are still traditional, stylized and geometric motifs from the everyday life of the nomads, such as goats, camels, dogs, plants or people. The geometric pattern and the friendly colors create a pleasant, warm living atmosphere.
The pattern of this rug is decorated with horizontal stripes and color gradients, which are kept in earth tones from rusty red to yellow. The pattern is reminiscent of the typical striped design of the Italian fashion company Missoni.
Pattern
The abstract geometric composition makes up the simple elegance of this Lori Royal. The pattern flatters the design of the room and does not take away from the furniture, decoration and architectural elements. It creates a pleasant atmosphere without dominating the style of the room.
The repeating elements of this Lori Royal rug have no specific center. The recurring repeat pattern is calming but not boring. carpets with repeat pattern are also referred to as patterned.
The surface of this Lori Royal works mottled. The color changes and light-dark shades of the pile yarn allow the colors to shimmer and make the carpet insensitive to soiling. The carpet appears livelier due to these so-called jumps in colour. The mottle is created because the wool of this Lori Royal was handspun. When dyeing, the natural dyes are absorbed differently.
The linear stripes of this Lori Royal organize and structure the pattern.
The color of this Lori Royal is turquoise.
material
This particularly fine, hand-knotted Lori has exceptionally dense pile and an even surface that is not as grainy as Gabbeh or other Lori rugs. The wool used for the pile of the Lori carpets is of particularly high quality and contains fat. They are particularly comfortable and durable. Traditionally, Lori rugs, like the Gabbeh, were used for sleeping. They invite you to sit and lounge around in the living room, but are also ideal for passageways and in the dining area. .
The warp and weft yarns of Lori rugs are traditionally made of virgin wool, with Dyed in natural colors and hand-spun become. The handspun wool gives the lories their soft surface. Handspun wool is always somewhat irregular. When dyeing, the natural dyes are absorbed differently. The carpet looks livelier, there are so-called color jumps Abrasch, i.e. light-dark color shades. The color changes in the pile yarn always run across the length of the Lori Royal and make the carpet insensitive to soiling. The weft and warp threads of this Lori Royal consist of Cotton. The versatile material is tear-resistant and stretchy and therefore particularly suitable for a hard-wearing base fabric.
