Natural Colours
The vivid blues, reds, oranges, yellows and purples are obtained from plants and berries that grow in the Atlas Mountains. They come from the henna bush, from pomegranates, figs and tea leaves. The sheep and goats reared high in the Atlas Mountains supply the wool for knotting the rugs. Some Berber tribes still live in the mountains of the Atlas range to this day.
