Free from the rules of traditional rug patterns, it was developed for Western art and interior design. This is not an entirely new development. The roots of European rug design go back to Art Deco rugs that were made to Western specifications between the late 1920s and the 1950s.

Material

The pile of this Mood is made of hard-wearing viscose. The colloquial term "artificial silk" is not permitted under the German Textile Labelling Act (TKG). Viscose, also known as acetate silk or rayon, is generally obtained from the natural product cellulose, in other words from wood as a raw material. In India, however, the cellulose pulp is also obtained from bamboo. In an elaborate process, the pulpy cellulose is drawn into a continuous textile yarn. That is why viscose is also called a continuous filament yarn. Because of the silky sheen of the yarn, viscose obtained from bamboo is also called "Bamboo Silk", bamboo silk. The weft and warp threads of this Mood are made of cotton. This versatile material is tear-resistant and stretchy, which makes it especially suited to a hard-wearing foundation.
