Every one of our rug cushions is a one-of-a-kind piece. Some of our cushions do have a brother or a sister, though, because we made several cushions out of one rug.
The front of the cushion covers is made from fragments of hand-knotted Turkish vintage rugs from the 50s to the 70s.
The rugs were hand-knotted from pure new wool. The new wool was dyed with plant colours before the knotting began. Their luminous, natural shades are loved all over the world.
We choose the rugs carefully and clean them before they are made into cushions – and, where needed, restore them gently.
The back is 100 % cotton and comes with a zip. The fabric and the colour of the back can vary, however. The colour of the back may differ from the photo and is only an example.
The insert is not included. Our rug cushions are pack animals, so there is no way we can send one out on its own ;) You have to take in at least two.
A note on the photos
Child labour? No thanks.
Child labour? No thanks. Children belong in school, not at a knotting frame or a loom. For us it therefore goes without saying that we only offer rugs made under fair conditions and without child labour.
We attach particular importance to humane working conditions and tolerate no child labour at any of our producers. Thank you for helping us to ensure fair conditions.
